Dr. Heidi Maas

Naturopathic Physician in Tigard, OR Focused on HRT, TRT, Medical Weight Loss, Sexual Health & Aesthetics

Meet Dr. Heidi Maas

Dr. Heidi Maas is a straightforward, compassionate naturopathic physician with a background in primary care and a strong focus on hormone replacement therapy, medical weight loss, sexual health, and aesthetics. She especially enjoys helping patients make sense of symptoms that have been unexplained, minimized, or attributed to aging—and showing them that there may be a meaningful path forward.

Patients appreciate that Dr. Maas listens closely, digs deeply, and speaks honestly. She believes in shared decision-making and wants patients to understand what is happening in their bodies, ask questions, and participate actively in their treatment.

Patients appreciate Dr. Maas because she is warm and approachable without avoiding difficult or direct conversations. She brings honesty, tenacity, and a welcome sense of humor into the exam room while taking each patient’s symptoms, concerns, and treatment goals seriously.

Education, Training, and Clinical Experience

Dr. Maas completed her undergraduate studies at Portland Community College and Portland State University before earning her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from the National University of Natural Medicine.

After medical school, she completed a two-year residency at The Holistic Health Clinic in Tacoma, Washington. She has nearly five years of experience in primary care and hormone replacement therapy.

Her additional background includes:

  • Primary care medicine
  • Hormone replacement therapy for women and men
  • Women’s reproductive hormone concerns, including PCOS
  • Medical weight management
  • Sexual health
  • Neurotoxin treatments

Before joining Full Potential HRT Clinic, Dr. Maas practiced primary care with a particular focus on women’s hormones and reproductive health. That experience continues to inform the way she evaluates the broader medical picture rather than treating symptoms or laboratory values in isolation.

Her Path to Whole-Person Hormone Care

Dr. Maas’s path to naturopathic medicine began with her own health experience. In her mid-twenties, she developed Graves’ disease, an autoimmune thyroid condition. After undergoing radiation treatment, she found herself wondering whether the illness could have been prevented, understood earlier, or treated differently.

She also remembered feeling lost and unheard—and not fully understanding what was happening with her health or what options were available. Although she was already drawn to natural medicine and had a background in grassroots environmental work, that experience led her more deeply into natural health and ultimately to naturopathic medicine.

It continues to shape how she practices today. She works hard to give patients what she once needed herself: a clear explanation of what may be happening, an honest discussion of the available options, and a meaningful role in deciding what comes next.

Areas of Clinical Focus

Dr. Maas believes hormone care should be a fundamental part of medicine. She has seen how many women and men struggle with disruptive symptoms while receiving little useful explanation—and she loves helping patients understand the role hormones may be playing in how they feel.

“Too many people have suffered because of misinformation about hormones. I love teaching patients what is going on in their bodies and helping them understand that there may be a viable and safe treatment option.”

She initially did not expect to enjoy men’s health as much as she does. Instead, she has found it deeply rewarding to see men reach out for help and experience the transformation that can follow.

In medical weight management, Dr. Maas views medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide as tools that can help patients become unstuck. She does not see medication alone as the entire long-term plan, and she works with patients to consider the habits and health factors that will support lasting progress.

Sexual health is one of her favorite areas of medicine—especially women’s sexual health. She understands how difficult it can be for women to talk openly about libido, orgasmic function, and sexual satisfaction, and she wants patients to have a comfortable, judgment-free place to discuss those concerns.

Dr. Maas also enjoys neurotoxin treatments because they can help patients feel refreshed and confident, whether used as an enhancement or as part of a preventative approach. Having experienced hair loss herself, she also understands how strongly changes in appearance can affect confidence and quality of life.

Why Dr. Heidi Maas Chose Full Potential HRT Clinic

Before joining Full Potential HRT Clinic, Dr. Maas practiced primary care with a strong emphasis on women’s hormone health. She was ready to specialize more fully in an area of medicine she genuinely loved.

The clinic’s membership model gives her the ability to focus more deeply on hormone care while continuing to draw upon the broad knowledge she developed in primary care. She also values being part of a medical team that supports one another and shares a clear direction.

“I feel completely supported by the team here. This clinic has a clear vision and knows where it is going.”

How Dr. Heidi Maas Approaches Patient Care

Dr. Maas strives to see each patient for who they are. She takes time to listen, dig deeply into their concerns, and build meaningful relationships rather than treating everyone through the same standard protocol.

Individualization is one of the things she takes most seriously. She believes in shared decision-making, explains the reasoning behind treatment options, welcomes questions, and encourages patients to participate actively in their care.

Honesty and tenacity are central to her approach. When an answer is not immediately clear or a treatment is not producing the expected result, she keeps looking, evaluating, and adjusting. She also understands that people make mistakes and sometimes feel embarrassed discussing their health; her exam room is a judgment-free space.

“I’m goofy, but straightforward. I may sometimes come across as blunt, but it is always out of care.”

Dr. Maas works especially well with patients who want to ask questions, participate in healthcare decisions, and appreciate a little humor along the way.

Outside the Clinic

Outside of work, Dr. Maas enjoys spending time with her family and immersing herself in fantasy novels. Her warmth, candor, and playful sense of humor are also very much a part of how patients experience working with her.
